Spring has definitely sprung here, and we in the Contractually office are loving the return of the sun and warm air. We’re so excited that we let out some new features a bit early to mark the real start of the season. If you’re interested in using your own contract forms and some new developments in e-signatures, keep reading!
Custom Forms
A popular request from members who come to Contractually with their own contract forms has been a way to make those forms work with all the features we offer. We’ve added that capability, and the changes it brings show up in a couple spots that you should know about.
Over in the Filing Cabinet section of Contractually is where you’ll find the place to add your own custom forms. Adding a form is a lot like filling out a contract: the editor appears and you can drop in your text with the magic of copy and paste (how did we ever live without copy & paste, anyway?). Once saved, the form can be duplicated or changed from the Filing Cabinet, and of course you can start a new contract using that form from there.
But that’s not the only place to put your new form to good use. When you start a new contract from anywhere else, a new interface appears that shows your custom forms as well as the widely-loved forms that Contractually provides for free. We’ll be refining that new interface over the little while, but we wanted to get the working basics out to members ASAP.
So bring your forms by the basket; we’ve got a new home for them now.
Signed Document Fingerprints
Another change to let you know about happens in the space of e-signatures. We’ve beefed up the information captured for a signed document to create a digital fingerprint that is composed of the document contents as well as the individual signatures. That means a single resulting fingerprint that is a sum total of contents and signatures. This additional step provides an extra layer of accountability around e-signatures.
Feedback, Please
We’ve been making smaller releases regularly that have fixes and minor improvements, and maybe you’ve already noticed these changes. Our work is far from finished, but we’re never too busy to take a break and listen to what you might have to say about how Contractually is working for you. Don’t be shy about dropping a note to our feedback forum, our support@contractual.ly inbox or @contractually on Twitter.
