Last week Contractually took a trip to one of Canada’s oldest and most beautiful cities, Montreal, and came away a winner.
There we joined scores of other startups from across Canada and the United States for the first annual International Startup Festival. In a beautiful waterfront setting, we caught up with friends and connected with new people doing interesting things in all kinds of sectors. Some of them inspired us. Some of them made us scratch our heads. With that kind of range you know you’re in a good place.
On Thursday afternoon, Martin took the stage to pitch Contractually and take questions. Holding up a phone book and noting how out of place it seems in an age of web searches, Martin showed the audience how Contractually is modernizing the shuffle of email threads and printed pages with a web-based, end-to-end tool. We were delighted to later learn that Contractually had been awarded first place in the Judges’ Pick award category!
We saw a lot hands go up when asking if there needs to be a better way to do contracts, and from the response of the audience and judges we came home with a clear signal that we’re on a good track. We had a great time in Montreal and are very grateful to the Startup Festival organizers for the chance to speak and for putting together a well-run two days in such a great setting. For now, we’re getting back to work on the new contract editor and responding to fine-tuning feedback that both old and new members are sending in.
Martin’s slides are posted at Slideshare, and the full roster of startups who presented is worth checking out.
